Our Story

The Rooks family has been a part of the Godley community for over 15 years, with nineteen of their twenty children having attended Godley schools. They moved to Godley in 2004 and began doing therapeutic foster care, recognizing the lack of placement families for older teens and sibling groups.

In 14 years of fostering, the Rooks family has adopted 18 children of the over 80 they fostered. When you visit the Godley Grind Coffee Company and Bakery today, you will see many of the Rooks children working behind the counters with their mother, Patti. Father, Deahl, can often be found at his favorite table in the corner, chatting with locals, or embarking on supply runs for Patti.
