Daily Grind - Bottled Water

When I was a kid running around on a hot day you just drank from the water hose next to the house. The water came out hot and often taster a little like the hose it came out of but we all did it to keep from wasting precious play time by going inside the house. In the house we drank straight from the tap we would fills glass bottles from milk or orange juice and leave in the fridge so we could have cold water and that was a treat.

When they started selling bottled water I thought that was rediculous to pay money for something you could get for free out of your tap or waterhose just because it was in a bottle. I was sure it was a fad and would never last. Today bottled water holds the largest share of the beverage market in the US. Although bottled water is 2,000 times more expensive than the water we get from the Tap. It is estimated that 1,500 bottles of water is consumed every second in the US.

So why are we willing to pay for bottled water? Spring water is preferable because it is always moving up and is pure and sparkeling. Water from the Tap has chemicals added and though safe to drink often has an off taste. Spring water is living water always moving. That is how we are meant to be as Christians. We were not meant to be stagnant but always moving up, living water refreshing others.

John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
