Feeling Weary and burdened?
adj bearing a heavy burden of work or difficulties or responsibilities. Synonyms: bowed down, loaded down, overburdened, weighed down. heavily burdened with work or cares.
Do you ever feel like you are loaded down, carrying a heavy weight on your shoulders? That was me this week. I had a busy last week and busy weekend. We opened our second location on Monday and I worked there all week, running back and fourth between the two and had a couple of events at night, several days I worked 16 hours this week. Buy the time I got home yesterday I was running on empty to say the least. By the Grace of God I have some great employees and was able to go home and grab a couple of hours of sleep. However I was to the point where I was so weary I could not rest with all the things running through my mind of things I still needed to do. I awoke this morning with the same heavyness of things waiting for me to complete. Then over coffee while taking a break at 4 am at the coffee shop, I realized why I was not being refreshed and renewed. I missed church Sunday to take a LTC class. I did not do my devotions and blog last week because I was so busy. My priorities were out of line and I did not take time to be refreshed by the things that really matter.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
I need to find the rest for my soul that is promissed and the rest for my body will come with it. Take time in your busy schedule today to find that rest for your soul.
