When we think of a hero we think of someone that defends the innocent, saves the children, fights evil and kills the bad guys. The Lone Ranger, Captain America, Robin Hood all come to mind. Many people would step up to help the child , the elderely, the disabled. What about the not so helpless? Those locked up in prison, those homeless on the streets, the drug addict, the prostitute, the mentaly ill?
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his brother.
Many people would lay down their lives for the brother, for those they love. But would you do it for those that are not so lovable?
Jesus Christ was the ultimate hero he not only laid down his life for the innocent but he laid down his life for those not so lovable, for the sinner, for you and for me.
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
I challange you today to do something for someone that is not so loveable, that grumpy neighbor, boss, teacher. Love them anyway like Christ loves us even when we are not so lovable.
